Why Harness Racing is Dying, or already Dead

This is a result from Freehold Raceway, May 10, of the early Daily Double. There was a 1:2 shot in the first race that was fried, parked to the quarter in 27:3 and finished 7th (Jimmy Morrill) and a 4:5 shot in the 2nd from the rail that was fried on the front end by a horse driven by Cat Manzi from the 5 hole that applied constant pressure until the 3/4. The double paid about 1/7th what it was supposed to, and with 2 hot favorites off, probably should have paid maybe 10-15 times what it did. Reportedly there was a fight in the Paddock between some drivers after the 2nd race. In the old days at Roosevelt/Yonkers, there would have been many fires set in the grandstand.

Suckers bet harness racing majority of races are somewhat fixed or horses hold back. Do not bet harness racing.

 

I have always preferred Harness over the flats and have tried cappin both w/o much success? Have to agree.....
